This Taiwanese multinational information technology corporation is ranked no.2 in the top 10 list. It was founded on 4 August 1986 and is famous for designing, developing, and providing computer hardware, related products, and services, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, All-in-One PCs, servers, industrial computers, PC peripherals, car infotainment products, etc. Last year, MSI generated the US $5.23 billion. The reputation for this company is built by developing and manufacturing computer motherboards and graphics cards.

 

3. Acer Inc: 

This Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronics corporation is ranked 6th in the top 10 motherboard manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in Xizhi, New Taipei, Taiwan, this multinational company was founded on 1 August 1976, by Stan Shih, Carolyn Yeh, and George Huang. Its products include desktop PCs, laptop PCs (clamshells, 2-in-1s, convertibles, and Chromebooks), tablets, servers, storage devices, virtual reality devices, displays, smartphones, and peripherals, as well as gaming PCs and accessories under its Predator brand. By January 2021, this company became the world’s 6th-largest PC vendor by unit sales. In 2019, this company generated $234.29 billion.

 

4. Gigabyte Technology: 

Another Taiwanese manufacturer and distributor of computer hardware are ranked third on this list. Gigabyte Technology was founded in 1986 by Pei-Chen Yeh. In the year 2015, Gigabyte Technology became the leading motherboard vendor by shipping 4.8 million motherboards in the first quarter of 2015. They even manufacture custom graphics cards and laptop computers. In the year 2010, the company was ranked 17th in “Taiwan’s Top 20 Global Brands” by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council. In the year 2019, the company generated a revenue of 61.78 billion.

 

5. ASRock: 

This Taiwanese manufacturer of motherboards, industrial PCs, and home theatre PCs ranks 4th in the top 10 motherboard manufacturers in the world. This company was founded in the year 2002 by ASUSTeK and is currently owned by Taiwanese electronics company Pegatron. ASRock also sells desktop minicomputers and three of its products were short-listed for the 2012 Taiwan Brand Award for the first time. Last year, the company generated a revenue of $640.71 Million.

 

6. Biostar: 

This Taiwanese company ranks 8th in the top 10 motherboard manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in New Taipei, Taiwan, this multinational company was founded in 1986. This company designs and manufactures computer hardware products such as motherboards, video cards, expansion cards, thermal grease, headphones, home theatre PCs, remote controls, desktops, barebone computers, system-on-chip solutions, and industrial PCs. In the year 2013, this company generated a revenue of $4.608 Billion / $147 Million (2013).

 

7. Intel: 

This American multinational corporation is ranked 5th in the top 10 motherboard manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in Silicon Valley, this multinational company was founded on July 18, 1968, by Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce. Not only is Intel a motherboard manufacturer but also it is the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer by revenue. They manufacture motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, flash memory, graphics chips, embedded processors, and other devices related to communications and computing. Headquartered in Gwinnett County, Georgia, U.S, this company was founded in the year 1985 by S. Shankar and Pat Sarma. Their products consist of Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Diagnostic Software, Remote Access, Motherboards, Firmware, and storage systems.
